Privacy policy

Globendar is a world clock and time-zone site. Most of it computes times in your own browser and needs no account. This page explains the cases where data does reach our servers.

The website

• No account: times are computed from your device’s own time-zone data. Nothing about what you look up is sent to us.
• With an account: we store your email address, a hashed password, your saved cities and any reminders you create, so they are there next time you sign in. Deleting your account removes all of it.
• Server logs: ordinary web-server logs (IP address, timestamp, path, user agent) are kept for a short period for security and abuse prevention, and are not used to build a profile of you.

Globendar for Slack

If someone installs Globendar for Slack in a workspace:

• What we store: the workspace ID and name, the app’s bot token (encrypted at rest), the ID of the person who installed it, and any per-workspace settings. That is the whole persistent record.
• What we read but do not store: when you run a command, we ask Slack for the members of that channel and each member’s display name and profile time zone. They are used to compute the answer and are discarded when the response is sent — they are never written to our database.
• What we never access: the contents of your messages, files, private channels or direct messages. The app does not request the permissions that would allow it to.
• Incidental data: Slack includes IDs and metadata in the payloads it sends us (for example a command’s channel and user ID). Where we do not need it, it is not retained beyond the request and ordinary short-lived server logs.
• No AI training: nothing we receive from Slack is used to train machine-learning models, and none of it is sold or shared with third parties.
• Uninstalling: when Slack tells us the app was removed from a workspace, we delete that workspace’s stored token and settings automatically.

How long we keep things

• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Slack installation records: until the app is uninstalled.
• Server logs: a short retention window, then deleted.
• Channel membership and time zones read to answer a command: not kept.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for it to be transferred, or ask us to delete it — including rights you may have under the GDPR or the CCPA. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. A Slack workspace owner can remove everything immediately by uninstalling the app.
